Dear fellow musicians,
I would like to invite you to pray about being a part of an exciting new venture in our territory, Sydney Salvation Brass.
I would also like to thank our Commissioner and leaders, many retired musical leaders, and current bandsman I have met with for coffee and discussions over the last few years whose advice and mentorship in our territory and overseas has been invaluable.
SSB is planned to be a versatile band for musicians between the Sydney Youth Band and the Sydney Veteran’s Band age groups, for current bandsman who each week participate in accompanying worship in their own corps and community outreach. Members would sometimes be called upon to form up at short notice to fulfil commitments that cannot be covered by corps bands and be able to march when called upon.
If you would like to apply and your corps does not have an active band and you are involved in ministry within your corps, please feel free to complete the application.
We plan to rehearse monthly on a time that will suit those who show expressions of interest. A band committee will be formed from those who apply and any engagements outside invitations by the territory to assist in territorial special occasions will be agreed around corps activities that would take precedence.
