“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
If I want to make a difference in the world, then I should remain in Jesus, follow his teachings and show his inclusive love.
If I want to live an abundant (fruit-bearing) life, then the same applies. I can’t do it without him.
Reflection Questions
• What difference would it make for you to embrace the thought that ‘it’ is not all up to you? (Whatever ‘it’ is for you)
• What simple, practical steps could you take to turn your attention to remaining in Jesus’ way – learning and applying his teachings, demonstrating his powerful and inclusive love, trusting in his powerful Spirit?
