Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a primatologist provides an entertaining night out for anyone who is prepared to suspend their higher thinking functions.

By Mark Hadley

The next big-budget action flick from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Dwayne stars as a primatologist whose best friend is an albino gorilla. But rogue scientists are working in orbit on a gene-altering weapon that turns animals into city-destroying Godzillas. When their research crashes to earth, and the Rock’s furry friend is infected, he has to fight to find a cure before these gigantic animals take Chicago apart.

WHAT’S GOOD
If you like seeing buildings bashed down and The Rock achieving the improbable, this is for you.

WHAT’S NOT
This Film was cobbled together from The Bumper Book of Blockbuster Cliches. It’s so unbelievable it makes San Andreas look sensible - no surprise, since it comes from the same director.

SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING
The only remotely spiritual thing is the lead character’s belief that, “People will do pretty much anything to get what they want.” It’s that selfish goad to our ambition that the Bible calls sin.

Rampage is rated M and is now screening.
