The Broken Way: A daring pathway into the abundant life by Ann Voskamp

Following on from her break out debut, A Thousand Gifts, Ann Voskamp’s The Broken Way is a continuation of her journey – first to thanksgiving (eucharisteo), and now to communion (koinonia) with God and others.

In this compelling memoir-come-theological narrative, she explores the profound brokenness in her own life and why she believes giving this to the world is the ultimate expression of God’s love.

Asking the question, “What will you do with your one broken heart?” her train-of-thought writing style will hit you in the gut from the first page, where she discusses the loss of her sister as a child and her struggle with self-injury.

Much like theologian and author C.S. Lewis, Voskamp’s style is easy to read but complex to understand. Once finishing, you will feel inclined to re-read this again to comprehend the profound truths she explains with both Biblical and personal examples.

A hands-on example of what taking up Christ’s cross actually looks like, The Broken Way will challenge the deepest parts of your soul to embrace Christ and in this healing; love others and self in the same sacrificial way.

The Broken Way is available from Koorong for $19.99.
