Meet Keven Williams, Messengers of Reconciliation
How did you know you were being called to officership?
I knew I was being called to officership when I was at a low point in my life. God prompted me that he was going to take care of me and that I needed to help others, as he did me, calling me to a life of ministry in The Salvation Army.
What has been challenging about your training?
My training has been a rollercoaster of mixed feelings, learning more about myself and how God has wired me to be even in my uncomfortableness.
Has it been different to your expectations?
Yes, but in a good way. Probably better than expected to be completely honest.
What has been the most rewarding?
Seeing the transformation in myself and those who I am ministering to, such as seeing one of our community members being reunited with his kids and getting his life back after two years of struggle.
How has God stretched you during the past two years?
He has made me pull myself apart and put myself back together again.
What is one important lesson you have learnt?
That God is always at work and never leaves you the same way that you started out.
Where have you been appointed during your cadetship?
Eastern Beaches Salvation Army in Maroubra (NSW).
