Salvation Army officers and personnel who have been promoted to glory:

Divisional Envoy Des Rundle was promoted to glory on Saturday 17December 2022 aged 99 years. Please keep his loved ones in your prayers.

Major Robert John McDonald was promoted to glory on Christmas Day 25 December 2022 aged 77 years. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy covers and surrounds Major Valis, their children Carolyn, husband Chris and their son Alex and Heather, husband Matthew and their children; Jordan and Ashleigh, extended family and all those who were close to him. Major Robert’s celebration of life service was held on Wednesday 11 January 2023.

Major Elma Corfield was promoted to glory on Tuesday 27 December 2022 aged 95 years. Her son Michael, grandson Chris, and nephew Ian were at her side. Our love and prayers, along with our heartfelt sympathy, cover and surround Major Elma’s immediate and extended family and all those who were close to her. Major Elma’s celebration of life service was held on Friday 13 January 2023.

Lieut-Colonel Bruce Carpenter was promoted to glory on Wednesday 30 November 2022 aged 65 years. Our love, prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy cover and surrounds Lieut-Colonel Cheryl, Andrew and Wendy, Kasie-Ann and Mike, Simon, and Lauren and their 10 beautiful grandchildren Blake, Matthew, Thomas, Bryelle, Tyler, Charlee, Brodie, Sienna, Declan, and Ariella.

Commissioner Wilma Maxwell was promoted to glory on Wednesday 5 October 2022 aged 89. Our love, prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy cover and surrounds Commissioner Earle, Commissioners Wayne and Robyn Maxwell, Majors Judith and Mark Soeters, Major Colin and Jan Maxwell, Colonels Philip and Deslea Maxwell, and their families and extended families.

Lieut-Colonel Mary Begley was promoted to glory Sunday 18 September 2022, aged 95. We extend our love, heartfelt sympathy, and prayers to Lieut-Colonel Ian, Major Lynette Jones, Suzanne and Andy Clark, Raymond Begley, Rodney and Karen Begley family, extended family and friends.

Major Violet Ovenden (nee Proud) was promoted to glory on Sunday 18 September 2022, aged 93. Our love and prayers, along with our heartfelt sympathy cover and surround Mim and Trevor White and their family, who were her family over all these years, and her nephew John, his wife Wendy and his extended family of five generations.

Major Heather Jones was unexpectedly promoted to glory on Friday 9 September 2022 aged 83. We extend our love, heartfelt sympathy, and prayer to Major Malcolm, Gregory and Sandy, their families, extended family and friends.

Major Graeme McClimont was promoted to glory unexpectedly on Monday 5 September 2022, aged 74 years. Our love and prayers, along with our heartfelt sympathy, cover Helen, Julie and Scott and their families.

Commissioner Amy Ada Orsborn was promoted to glory at on Thursday 1 September 2022, aged 90.

Colonel Gordon Fischer was promoted to glory on Monday 22 August 2022, aged 96 years. Our heartfelt sympathy, love and prayers surround and cover Colonel Joyce, Ray, John, Heather and Cheryl, their families and extended family at this tender time.

The last remaining Brigadier of The Salvation Army Australia Territory, Brigadier Dorothy Elizabeth Smythwas promoted to glory on Tuesday 16 August 2022, aged 93. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy covers and surround Graham and Judy Crown, Margaret and Les Woodbury, Gwenneth and Graeme Klee and Robert and Jill Crown, their families and extended families. Also, the Stephens and Smyth families.

Major Edna Joyce Reeveswas promoted to glory on Sunday 7 August 2022 aged 90. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy covers and surrounds Major Noel, Margaret and Harry, Scott and Sue, Catherine and Marc, their families and extended families.

Envoy George Hazell (OF) was promoted to glory on Friday 29 July 2022, aged 91. Envoy George was awarded the Order of the Founder in 1993 by General Eva Burrows for his work with young people. He was also responsible for the setting up of the Australia Eastern Territory Heritage Centre. Please pray for the Hazell family and George’s friends at this time.

Major Brian Davis was promoted to glory from palliative care on Wednesday3 August 2022, aged 79. Our heartfelt sympathies are extended to Major Pat and all the family, and our thoughts and prayers lift them before God during this tender time.

Major Rosemary Haines was promoted to glory on Friday 22 July 2022, aged 86. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy cover and surround her brother Don and his wife Gwen, her niece and nephews, and their families.

Major Lyn Day was promoted to glory on Thursday 23 June 2022 aged 75 years. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are extended to her husband Major Denis and her sister Major Dorothy Woodbury and the extended family.

Major Leona Scholz was promoted to glory on Sunday 19 June 2022 aged 85 years. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are extended to Leona’s sister, Commissioner Coral Strong and family.

Lieut-Colonel Edward Dawkinswas promoted to glory on Sunday 12 June 2022 aged 90 years. Please pray for his wife Lieut. Colonel Desley, along with Wendy and Keith, Narelle, Stevan and Vickie and their families.

Auxiliary-Captain Roy Tabrett was promoted to glory on 24 May 2022, aged 89 years. Please pray for his wife, Judy and his children Lesley, Martin, Elizabeth, Alison, Andrew and their families.

Major Berynice Ford was promoted to glory on Saturday 30 April 2022, aged 94 years. Our love, sympathy and prayers are extended to Major Alf, her daughter Delece, her son Lester, and his sons Clinton, Stuart and Kristan, and their families.

Major Christine Dickson was promoted to glory on Sunday 17 April 2022, aged 60 years. Our love, sympathy and prayers are extended to Major Neil, Curtis and David, Elyse and Andy, Christine’s parents - Edward and Val McNeill, and their extended family and friends. We grieve her earthly passing but celebrate in her joyous reunion with her Lord and Saviour. Well done, good and faithful servant!

Captain Valerie King was promoted to glory on Monday 18 April 2022, aged 86 years. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy covers and surrounds her husband Colin, her cousins Major Joyce Harmer, Major Daphne Cox, Keith Lipke, Joan Hilton and Yvonne King and their families.

Major Gladys Corlass was promoted to glory on Monday 18 April 2022, aged 92 years. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy covers and surrounds Gladys' children: John Corlass (deceased) and Wendy Kennedy, Graham Corlass, Heather Rye, Ian Corlass and Ann Reed and their families.

Captain Heather Johnson was promoted to glory on Thursday 7 April, aged 89 years. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy surround David, Betty-Joy, Lynette and their families.

Major Helen Steer was promoted to glory on Saturday 26 February, aged 74 years. Please keep Major Barry, daughter Auxiliary Lieutenant Catherine Philpot and David, son Andrew and Melinda, their families and extended family in your thoughts and prayers at this tender time.

Major Mavis McPherson was promoted to glory on Friday 18 February, aged 91 years. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy cover and surrounds her niece Glenda, nephew Craig and their families.

Major Frits Janssen was promoted to glory on Sunday 30 January aged 69 years. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy surround David and Rebecca, and Phillip and their families (including their grandchildren Thomas and Evelyn).

Lieut-Colonel Bram Hindle was promoted to glory on Saturday 15 January aged 83. Our love and prayers along with our heartfelt sympathy cover Lieut-Colonel Judy, Tony and Kerrie, Cathy and Darryl, Darren and Sarah, grandchildren Gabrielle, Josephine, Harry, Oscar, Felix and Solomon as well as the wider family. Bram was twin brother to Major Stan (deceased) and brother to Jean, Roma and Peter. 

Captain Vivien Moody was promoted to glory on Saturday 15 January aged 82 years. Captain Vivien was mother to sons Martyn, Kevin, Nigel and Darren Scrimshaw and daughter Major Karen Armstrong. Heartfelt sympathy, love and prayer is extended to Major Brian Moody and all the family at this tender time. 

Colonel Keith Parkinson was promoted to glory on Wednesday 19 January aged 90 years. Our prayers and heartfelt sympathies are extended to son Howard and daughter Meredith and their families.
