Normally I wear the audio-visual hat for the Perth Fortress, and on special occasions (such as the annual Youth Anniversary), I wear the photographic (“paparazzi”) hat.
There was one particular occasion where donning the photographic hat allowed me virtually a front-row seat to witness a truly inspiring event – the visit to Perth by the International Staff Songsters in April 2017.
To listen to the “crème de la crème” of songsters was a wonderfully glorifying and uplifting occasion. It was as if angels had come and mixed amongst us.
Even more satisfying for me, apart from being able to listen to their heavenly voices, was that as a photographer, I had the best views to witness this event! In addition to exercising my discretion to ensure that I did not obstruct other members of the audience whilst taking pictures, the privilege to be up close and personal was unforgettable!
I am sure everyone in the audience would agree that the event elevated one’s own spirits, and marvelled at how God works his wonders. In this instance, he instilled the joy of seraphic voices for us to behold, and that the music of God is truly a magnificent experience!”
