Book Review: Against All Odds - by Craig Challen & Richard Harris

It’s June 2018, and two relatively unknown middle-aged Australian men have found themselves at the centre of the world’s attention.
The Thai cave rescue of a soccer team of 12 young boys and their assistant coach is unfolding before the world’s eyes, and Aussie divers Craig Challen and Richard Harris have been called on because of their expertise in deep-cave diving.
The team has become trapped through rising levels of rushing water and the only way out is death. It’s up to Challen and Harris, with their combination of caving diving and medical skills, to lead the way.
The book Against All Odds is the account of Challen and Harris and how they went about the rescue.
Once you begin reading you will quickly become captivated. You find yourself sitting on the edge of your chair. You are holding your breath and then realise you have stopped breathing. Your hands are sweating and then there are the ‘wow’ moments – long sighs and tears of joy.
It is clear that cave diving is a world in which most people never go. Very few people explore beyond into the darkness, yet Challen and Harris have done so literally and metaphorically.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It’s inspirational as you become aware of every person who was involved in the massive rescue operation.
Against All Odds is available at major bookstores.

I have a growing passion learning more about the fortitude of great magnitude about these two Australians who were thrown into the limelight in the world current affairs news when they became highly involved during the rescue mission of saving 13 young people trapped inside the cave of Northern Thailand. I still have to purchase a copy of their book recounting their very own encounter of such mammoth and delicate mission. I can't wait to peruse the substance of this great story of humanity to which Dr. Harris and Dr. Challen had epitomised with incredible humility and modesty.
would love to buy the book-makes me proud to be an Aussie I have three sons and two grandsons-they are also very proud Aussies
