Book review: The Field Guide to the Bible by The Bible Society
Book review: The Field Guide to the Bible by The Bible Society

I love a good subtitle and this little gem has a great one: “Making (some) sense of an ancient book with really tiny font”.
The Bible Society New Zealand has created an inviting guide for anyone who finds the Bible hard to read or has no idea where to even start.
Topics covered include how the Bible story fits together and how to hear God through the Bible.
The guide may be squarely targeted at youth/young adult readers, but it has plenty to offer a broader demographic.
My 10-year-old son picked it up at home and happily read through many sections.
At the other end of the spectrum, it provides an easy and welcome ‘refresher’ for those of us who’ve been around the Bible for a while.
It’s gorgeously designed, filled with linear illustrations and clear, simple writing with text broken down into small, easily digestible sections.
This is a thoroughly accessible intro to the Bible that’s begging to be picked up and read.
Available now at Koorong.
