Taking groceries to a neighbour or putting care packages together is a great way to share printed stories from others.org.au    Photos: Kianworthingphotography.

Sharing stories of help, hope and encouragement in our communities has become even more important as the  COVID-19 crisis continues to unfold around us.

As The Salvation Army’s publications in Australia – Kidzone, Others and Warcry – increase their digital presence in the wake of a temporary suspension on printing, we are making additional resources available for people to use in their community outreach.

On the others.org.au site, readers can now click on the ‘Stories to Share’ icon on the top left-hand side of the landing page and be taken to a range of outward-focused stories that would usually appear in Warcry.

These stories can be shared electronically with friends, family and people in your community through social media by clicking on the Facebook or Twitter icons at the end of the story.

Stories can also be printed (examples pictured right) by clicking on the print icon at the end of the story and a pre-formatted and ready-to-print version of the story will appear on your screen. This is an ideal way to share hope-filled, encouraging and transformational stories with someone in your community, especially those who don’t have access to a computer or the internet.

If you're writing a letter, taking groceries to a neighbour, putting some care packages together for the elderly or dropping a hamper to someone in your community, why not print off some of these stories to share with them?

We will regularly add new stories for you to share.

Kidzone

Kidzone, The Salvation Army’s award-winning Christian magazine for kids, is also being made available free online every week. Kids and families will love the stories, puzzles, crafts, recipes and competitions in the magazine, as well as the extra activities, online resources, cool characters and online games.

A link to a free, easy to follow guide on how to use the magazine as a ministry teaching tool for families at home is also available to download.
