Northern Lights â The Salvation Army's work in Greenland
?Northern Lights? is a short documentary exploring The Salvation Army's work in Greenland.
Homelessness is a big problem in this area, making life incredibly tough in one of the coldest places on Earth. In a rare interview, Asii Chemnitz Narup, the Mayor of Sermersooq (a local government area), speaks frankly about the social and economic issues affecting the capital city of Nuuk.
We also show the conditions facing people living in tents, shipping containers and even underneath boats, who struggle for food and with health issues. The situation seems bleak, but in this film we see how The Salvation Army and community members are responding ? true 'northern lights' in this Arctic outpost.
