Great news ... we are all commissioned!

Great news ... we are all commissioned!

Great news ... we are all commissioned!

27 November 2022

Jodie Hughes challenges all Christians that they are commissioned to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Four cadets are being commissioned as Salvation Army officers of the Australia Territory this weekend, but seventh-generation Salvo Jodie Hughes reminds us that we are all commissioned and anointed by Jesus to evangelise the world according to God’s call on our life.

By Jodie Hughes

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

This one truth will transform you – the Great Commission was given to believers, not just Salvation Army officers or other ministers and evangelists. Let that sink in. The Great Commission was given to believers, not just those with a gift for evangelism!

That means it’s for all of us! And it also means you’re anointed for it!! What God calls you to, he will anoint you for.

Many people think they can’t win souls because they’re not an evangelist (or don’t consider themselves one). The Great Commission quashes this limiting lie. We are all called, we are all commissioned, and all anointed for the harvest. Whilst there are those specifically called as evangelists (who, among other things, champion and equip others to win souls), everyone is called with authority and anointing to GO!

You are called to share Good News in your everyday sphere of influence, and as a believer in Jesus, you are anointed for this ... so if you think “someone else can do this better than me”, that’s a limiting lie and just not true or biblical.

You’re commissioned, sent and anointed for your life! When you recognise you’re sent into your life, you realise your ‘go and tell’ is anointed.

You don’t have a second-rate anointing for the gospel ... you are anointed because you’re a believer! You’re anointed with a sharp anointing for souls wherever your daily yes to God has you. Take that in ... you don’t have a second-rate anointing for souls.

Let me be blunt. If you think you’re not anointed for souls, you won’t win souls because you won’t even try! Now, doesn’t it seem obvious why the devil would tell you: “You’re just not good at that, leave it to the evangelists!” Wow, smash that hell-inspired lie!

The Great Commission was given to every believer and is the believer’s job description and a list of things you are anointed for:

Let Matthew 28:18-20 sink in again: “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

It’s true that you ‘grow as you go’, and like anything in the kingdom, the more you do it, the sharper you get at it. But let’s stop allowing the devil to tell the Church they aren’t anointed to win souls, so don’t bother! This hellish lie must stop.

And the other lie is that you’ll never enjoy it and always find it a soul-destroying duty. Let me tell you, one look in the eyes of someone who moments earlier was destined for hell and now has tears streaming down their face and looks alive instead of dead ... this is the greatest, most exhilarating, heart-shifting joy to be part of. There is literally nothing like seeing souls won, and the devil is scared crazy the Church might discover this.

Decree with me:
I’m an anointed soul winner!
I’m anointed to share the Good News.
I’m sent into my life and anointed to tell people about Jesus.
I’m anointed to see people say yes to God in my own world and family.
My everyday obedient ‘go’ is anointed and powerful.
I will see a miracle harvest of souls in my world.

I’m blessing you with fire, passion for revival and souls, and fresh oil today to see new breakthroughs when it comes to seeing people say yes to God. Expect salvations ... expect to grow ... expect more than before.

God bless the incredible evangelists of this generation, including The Salvation Army, many of whom are my friends. Thank God for you!

And God bless a generation that’s upon us who will kick the devil’s butt and win the worldwide soul harvest just by believing they are called and anointed for their own life. It’s already begun.

God’s got his best people deployed in your sphere of influence, and that’s you!
