Salvation Army Today - 09.25.2018 - Commissioner Harry Read takes to the skies [again!]

Veteran Salvation Army Officer, Commissioner Harry Read, 94, took part in his first skydive since parachuting into Normandy on June 6 1944, D-Day. Commissioner Read is a notable retired Salvation Army Leader and author. He made the jump to raise money for The Salvation Army's work in combatting Anti Trafficking and Modern Slavery. Read was a wireless operator in the British Army 6th Airborne Division when he jumped into Normandy in the early hours of 6 June 1944 during World War ll. The Commissioner is planning to take part in the 75th D-Day anniversary commemorations in June 2019 by jumping back into Normandy with the "World Class" Red Devils of the British Army Parachute Regiment.
