The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command launched its new Anti-Human Trafficking Shelter. The 24-hour shelter will combat the issue and give rapid response services to survivors throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. The program will use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to support survivors. The shelter will provide immediate care through a 24-hour hotline and intake process, emergency shelter, comprehensive case management, emergency medical, mental, and health care, and confidential crisis response. The Salvation Army will also provide long-term services including trauma therapy, transitional housing, education, and employment training.
